Metro presents the idea of encapsulating time into repetitive events, like between one arrival of a train and the next one. Such repeated event is a constant. But it is also variable, as there is no possibility of two identical events. It is a chain of patterns, each of them consisting of smaller patterns. The repetition is constant. But within the repeated constances there are variabilities. That is what Metro tries to show. Constant variability and variable constance.
